Cleaning Tips:
Diamond jewelry Only:  bring a pot of water and a couple of drops of dishwashing soap to a boil.  Put diamond jewelry in a strainer in the pot so that it doesn' hit the metal.  Soak for several minutes, then rinse.

Amethyst, Aquamarines, Emeralds, Garnets, Jade, Sapphires, Rubies, Topaz and Tourmalines:  Add 1 tablespoon to one-half cup of warm water.  Immerse jewelry and scrub with a soft toothbrush.  Rinse in clear water and dry with a lint-free cloth.

PearlsClean each one individually.  Rub gently with a soft chamois cloth dampened in a mild soap and water solution.  Then rinse and buff with a flannel cloth.  The best way to condition real pearls is to wear them often and next to your skin.  Their surface is improved as they absorb natural skin oils.  You can get much of the same effect by rubbing a little olive oil over the pearls.  Then wipe dry with a chamois cloth.

Costume Jewelry:  To prevent metal costume jewelry from tarnishing, store it with a piece of white chalk.
